Beef Shack - Elgin

Ordered a hot dog. Ate there. Hot dog was room temperature. Went back for another hot dog. Bun was hot, hot dog again was room temperature. Fries were really good. I went back and got a mini beef. It was good.

The dog I had was great, but not to fund of crinkle fries. The woman behind the counter was patient considering I was a new customer. Even my food was still pretty warm. And they even gave me plenty of napkins where some places don't give you close toenough.

The food is great, but here is a word of advice: If you go in and see them preparing a large catering order, do yourself a favor and walk away. I went in the other day about 30 minutes after they opened and there were about 10 people in there allfeverishly working to get a large order ready. Two guys stood at the counter, one on the phone and one doing.....who knows. Istood there for five minutes and neither of them even thought about telling me to wait a second. I was invisible. Zerointeraction in five minutes. So I left and went somewhere else. I guess my money isn't as important as the money they weremaking on the large catering order. Oh well.

I'm sorry, the items on the menu can hardly be called a menu. 2 burgers, a hot dog, a couple chicken sandwiches and not much else that looks interesting. The burgers are fried even though they have a chain broiler like Burger King. The burgers aresupposed to be 6.8 oz, but who knows? The burgers are smashed so thin there's only one way to serve them- greasy! It tasted likepate'! And looked like wipped meat! The fries were just as greasy. No iced-tea either. I walked out of there for $15.50! What awaste of money. My colleague wasn't impressed either. I wish them well but we won't return. Go to Jimmy's Charhouse or BurntToast instead.

I had the opportunity to taste beef snack from a friend before I even heard about her, and I vouched to come and check her, then I could. It's a Tuesday and they had hot dogs specials going to I think $1. I definitely took advantage! I have a few cheeseries! Needless to say I will come here more often
