Applebee's - Elgin

I placed a takeout order and there was a small mistake made by either the server or the cook. I completely understand that mistakes happen. I didn't have time to go back and rectify it, so I called and spoke to Mathew, the manager on duty. Mathew exceeded all my expectations. I originally called just to inform him about the minor mix-up, but I want to take a moment to thank him for turning a small setback into a really positive experience. His customer service skills are outstanding!

Johanna, our server, was incredibly accommodating. When we requested to move to a different booth because we were feeling chilly from the air vent, she handled it with a great attitude. She was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I wanted to make sure to mention her name since people often voice complaints but seldom take the time to give well-deserved compliments. Working in the food industry is challenging, and often goes underappreciated. Plus, the food we had was excellent!

The food was tasty and the portion sizes were quite reasonable for the price. The appetizers could almost serve as a full meal on their own. However, the restaurant was quite warm; I hope they manage to fix the air conditioning soon. I also wish they would provide a separate drink menu with prices listed, as it can be a bit inconvenient to ask for prices each time. The staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely try the pretzel sticks with the beer cheese dip before they run out!

Applebees reliable dining experience—our group of 4 was seated right away which was great for a a Saturday evening around 6pm. Service was timely. Food came out quickly, great temperature and everything was accurate. Enjoyed a complimentary birthday dessert. Would return to this location.

Kind and fast service. Food was delicious! I got the southwest chicken bowl. The salmon, mashed potatoes, pretzels with cheese, and burgers are also delicious.
