One of the favourite places in El Puerto! Highly recommended to have wines and food here. Great atmosphere! Definitely a place to go if you are around!100
This bar is primarily a local sherry bar. And local life is all around to see. The guys don't speak English, but why would they? The server took us to the back of the bar and showed us their sherry memorabilia and barrels....they serve all the types of sherry at very low prices....and it's good fun. They have a lot of bullfighting memorabilia too. For sensitive types bear in mind that this is a very traditional Spanish town and bar, just enjoy the sherry.
Well worth finding this little bodega and experiencing a typical Spanish Saturday lunch. The highlight was the chicken cooked in Pedro Ximenez sweet sherry delicious and only 5.5 euros . Get there for about 1pm , Best to book a table but if there isn't one available you can stand outside and use one of the barrels to lean on. The sherry is varied and decent quality , very reasonable priced by the glass and of course you can also purchase it in 2L plastic bottles to take home from 3.2 euros a litre! We were the only English speakers in the bar and it has quite a raucous atmosphere with lots of Locals enjoying a cheap Saturday lunch. If I understood the Spanish owner correctly, there are only cold cheese and ham tapas through the week but Saturday had 5-6 hot tapas and about the same hot main courses. We are returning this Saturday to try the beef stew , fish balls in tomato sauce and the hot garlic stew.
