Fuegia - El Chaltén

Skip pasta, eat lamb and trout. And reserve or early there. Fill up quickly!

After a few weeks in Argentina it was nice to come to a restaurant that offered something else. In addition to the usual choices of steaks, they had several vegetarian dishes that were beautiful as a change from.....Steak. We visited three times and changed with Maffia (see separate review). The restaurant is popular, so it is always best to book if you have a good table they always gave us the table in the window that was calmer and had a view of the valley. Good selection of wines and beer was cheap! Service was friendly and prompt and, unlike a previous review, we had no problems paying the bill or changing for a tip!

The meal we had with beautiful wine and a vegetable stew was very good. The restaurant is small and very loud. Service was slow, especially when we tried to pay the bill. They also added a tip and then offered no change for the top when we asked. Well, good food, but regrettable way to get an extra tip.

Warm and cozy restaurant with very friendly service. Wonderful trout and large steak usual generous portions, as we found everywhere in Patagonia! Really good wine selection.

Healthy rustic and delicious food. It was all cooked to perfection and well presented. The service was great! The staff are friendly and attentive while allowing us space to enjoy our meal together. The chef puts so much love and care into the food too. It's all fresh with a menu range to suit all including vegetarians and vegans. It all pairs perfectly with their wine selection. Fuegia is so good that my partner and decided to go there for dinner two nights in a row. Thank you Fuegia :
