The staff said that they cannot guarantee that in the pizza’s there is no cross contamination. However, they are knowledgable and do their best. they said they bake gluten free pizza in a separate tin, so it does not touch the oven or the other pizza’s . It is baked in the same oven as other pizza’s. The staff said that their risotto or pasta are safer options, gluten free wise. My son is a celiac and he did not have any trouble after eating pizza there, nor in other Vapiano restaurants (it is a chain so good to know if you visit other cities)
We hadden pizza: 1 glutenvrij en 1 gewone. Eenvoudig bestellen via de QR code. Iedere pizza kan gekozen worden. Vervolgens kun je voor een glutenvrije bodem kiezen. De glutenvrije pizza komt in een aluminium bak. Ze hebben ook glutenvrije pasta.
Echt heerlijke pizza! Werd gebakken en geserveerd in een aparte alumium schaal. Je moet er wel op letten dat je de pizza even apart bij het personeel moet bestellen en dit niet via de QRcode kan.
Online it was said that Vapiano uses different pans and tools to make the glutenfree pizza and pasta. In the restaurant we had to order with a QR-code. When ordering the pizza you want to have, you can choose what ingredients you want to remove or add (including the option of gluten free pizza dough). However, it doesn't state which toppings contain gluten, so i asked the waiter. He told me that three pizzas (margherita, salami and tuna) are the safest choices, and for the others he couldnt garantuee that there would be no traces of gluten in them. Keep in mind that you have to pay 1,5 euros extra for the gluten free dough. I decided to add additional toppings to the salami pizza (union, paprika and arugula), which varied in costs but let's say 1 euro per ingredient. The pizza tasted very good and i haven't been sick after, but i have to say it didn't feel completely safe eating there. They should know and have a list of what toppings contain gluten, or traces of gluten.
