Bernera Community Cafe - Eilean Siar

We were in for brunch and the soup was amazing and the homemade cake’s excellent. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

A lovely remote community center, with just enough to see us on our way to Bosta beach. Don’t miss the small museum with the large brass clapper from the Time and Tide Bell!

Sadly the cafe is only open two mornings a week , so the sign on the road at the bridge to Gt. Bernera is incorrect. However, if you do make it for a snack, sandwiches, or cake, you will enjoy it. It is very popular with walkers and cyclists, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Busy around lunchtime, needless to say. The shop which used to be attached in now closed permanently, so be aware that the nearest shop is Uig, about 3/4 an hour's drive away. You can still buy fuel at a pump nearby using a card only.

Lovely cakes and lovely staff. Felt really comfortable here in this cosy cafe and the strawberry and cream cake was the best, lemon drizzle was good too. I bought scones and the custard cream blondie to take away. They were delicious too.
