I've been to this place a few times when visiting family and I've always loved it. Tonight, something was different. I went with a party of 5 and we sat in a big ass booth in the bar. I have to say, our server Jill was A+, top notch. The ice cold Steigl on tap was mighty tasty, and I'd go back here just for the beer. We started with the fried pickles and onion strings, which were pretty greasy and bordering on too salty. I know I say this a lot, but their ranch dressing was so good I'd dip a flip flop in it. I ordered their smoked wings with buffalo and BBQ sauce. The buffalo was a dry rub and was so salty, I only took one bite (this is as rare for me as seeing the Lochness monster would be for you . The BBQ was good, but basically meat candy it was so sweet. I stole some of my dad's ribs, and they were also super salty. I asked my family what their thoughts were and my stepmom who puts salt on salt echoed my same salty sentiments, so take that for what it's worth (a grain of salt? If I were to go back, I'd get some beer, coleslaw, and ranch.
It's a nice bar in a bad location. It's really far from the strip and you wouldnt know it's even out there if you wernt from the area or searched online. Food is okay, but it's not the best.
In terms of a smokehouse or anything related to BBQ this is a 0/5. Some of the pizzas, the pickle chips, and the wings are good 4/5. Service is 1/5 tops. They have very inexperienced servers and you can tell. BBQ wise do not stop here for it if you want BBQ it 's terrible. I 've tried every meat they have multiple times. It 's dry, flavorless, and overcooked. Having eaten at many good BBQ places in Nashville, St. Louis, Atlanta, etc. this place would be out of business in 5 mins down there. They need to get an actual smoker, stop with the liquid smoke, and actually learn how to smoke meat and how to make it a spectacle for people to see. Look to local examples like Sugarfire, Bogarts, Hendricks, Pappy 's all just a 100 mile drive away from here on how to do it right. Great social media presence, great food, etc. at these places. Serving wise the staff need to know the menu, the bartenders need to be working the bar, so many times I come in for take out and sit at the bar and not one person offers or asks if I want a drink. Silly. Cool location and cool outdoor area, but the owners and financiers just can 't get it right.
They catered our Christmas lunch at work. Amazing food. Our hostess was very friendly and courteous and gave great portion sizes.
