Raintree - Effingham

A beautiful find in Effingham, Illinois. After a long journey from Hays, Kansas, we stopped for the night. We could go from the motel to the restaurant. We went past the salad bar for soup and salad. The soup of the day was sour wort with potato and keelbasa. The salad bar was good. The soup was excellent. Our waitress was very nice. The locals were friendly. We will make Rain Tree a regular stop on I-70.

Great food, great service cozy bar atmosphere. A favorite stop when passing the area. The Wall-Auged Sandwich and the Pommes were delicious.

Love the loaded potato skins. Pairs wonderful with bucket of Guinness.

Very generous servings. Can get coupons if you stay at the hotel next door.
