Bidrage med feedbackReturning to the car with our purchases, we tried the blueberry danish first, only to find that it was stale and at least a day old. The supposed cherry pastry turned out to be apple instead, with a frozen base and overly sweet icing. The custard tart was enjoyable, and the Portuguese donut resembled a beaver tail and was tasty, albeit a bit greasy. The cornbread started off well, but the center became gooey after a couple of slices. Overall, it was a disappointment, and the service was lackluster at best, earning a 2 out of 5 rating. We won't be returning, especially since there are better bakeries like Breadland and Eleanor Laurent south of the river on 109th St. We've had nothing but great experiences at both places.
The best place for tarts and everything baked. Go She's here years and is still great. A friend has introduced me and I have not gone into another bakery since then, which is much more than a bakery and feels almost like yours out of Edmonton.
I went to a bakery looking for my favorite bread and to watch a soccer game, but it was closed for the day. So, I walked to a popular spot nearby. They had a juice machine to make fresh orange juice and I decided to try their version of an egg McMuffin: a brioche with a choice of ham, bacon, or sausage. Both dishes were delicious. The bakery also offers a small selection of prepared Portuguese food and acts as a deli/cafe with a variety of meats, cheeses, and sausages that you can purchase to take home. They open at 7:30. The bakery is licensed to serve alcohol, but I am unsure if the other restaurant is.
This bakery restaurant is located on 118. Street in an area that has experienced a revitalization of varieties, although I believe that this business has been there for some time. I ordered baked goods and bread every time I'm in the area. This time we decided to eat lunch. They were busy so it took a while to get our meal and they forgot one of the desserts (which we bought as soon as the installation slows down). The soup, sandwiches and desserts were good, although I still think this business is its greatest strength.
Awesome bakery, what a Gem on 118ave, very modern up to date bakery. I herd that this bakery started a movement in the area . By building their new building and staying on 118ave to continue their business operation, were a catalyst on the revamping the much needed community of Alberta Avenue. Great friendly staff, great products.
