Olly Fresco's - Edmonton

I love this spot for lunch! You can order sandwiches or pick from the amazing buffet options! The food is always really fresh and delicious, and there are always healthy options. The menu rotates on a weekly schedule and features comfort foods like chicken stroganoff, lasagna, butter chicken, turkey and stuffing, etc etc... Every day there are choices galore. Go early to avoid the lunch rush.

I just went today, Friday, for the first time for takeout lunch. As luck would have it, after looking over and deciding on some items, several things I wanted were being refilled! So fresh mulligatawny soup, thai curry chicken, samosas, etc. (Hate being served stuff scraped from the bottom of the pot.) A bit pricey for my lunch @ $13, but not bad for the variety and in comparison to prices/choices at the nearby food trucks.I also sample the mango quinoa salad and moroccan couscous. Liked everything except for the thai curry chicken - meat was a bit dry, but flavour was good.Also, cashiers were very polite and cheerful, and they ask if you want a bag which you are given to put the stuff in yourself - so not sure about previous comments about them flipping your box upside and them being rude, etc. After being acknowledged by one of the two very busy cooks fulfilling grill orders, waited a few minutes for her to get my soup.All in all, a pretty good experience. Not what I would call fancy or an enormous array of choices, but would definitely go back once in a while for a quick lunch with a little variety to choose from.

I go to Olly's a couple times a week for lunch. It is fast and lots of variety, can differ each day. serves breakfast and lunch and so many things to choose from. Be careful though, you pay by weight so think about that as you fill up your container. you can go or stay, You can fill up on the best bacon for almost next to nothing! I usually go because there aren't enough chairs and they fill up fast. Did I say there was lots to choose from? Endless variety and I love it!

Love this place! Once you try it you will be hooked. It is crazy busy during the lunch hour so go early. The food is nothing gourmet but it is always crisp and fresh. And there is always a great variety! There is a buffet of hot food, an extensive salad bar, a counter to order sandwiches, and tons of beverages. I am completely addicted to their chinese food and their samosas. Just keep in mind they charge you for your food based on weight. It took me a few trips to figure out that my eyes were bigger than my stomach and that was killing my lunch budget. Lol

This great little cafe is a bit hidden but once you find it you will go back. It offers plenty of seating and a fantastic assortment of both food and coffee. I was there in the morning and there was a huge selection of hot foods and baking. And to top it all off some of the most affordable prices in the downtown core. Coffee in a reusable mug is only $1.25!
