Bidrage med feedbackI recently visited Penang twice in the past month after hearing great things from friends. The restaurant has a small parking lot in front and plenty of seating inside. The interior is quite nice and we were seated at a booth both times. During my most recent visit, I ordered the pad see ew with beef, my friend ordered the drunken noodles, and another friend got the spicy Thai chicken rice. The pad see ew and drunken noodles looked similar, but both dishes were delicious. While my beef was a bit dry, I enjoyed the thick noodles and well-seasoned meal. My friend's chicken and rice dish had a unique presentation, with cold chicken and a bowl of white rice, but she still enjoyed it after removing the chicken skin. The Thai chicken reminded me of Hainanese Chicken and looked appetizing. Additionally, she had the option to choose white or dark meat for the chicken, with a small extra charge for dark meat. Our only slight issue was with the waiter, who joked around with us. Despite some confusion with ordering Thai iced coffee, we found the prices to be very reasonable, making Penang one of the best-priced Thai restaurants in the area. I plan on returning to Penang soon.
If you are familiar with South Asian cuisine, you will be extremely disappointed by this restaurant. My partner and I recently dined here for an early dinner on a weekday, and we left feeling let down. The restaurant was not busy, with only 3-5 tables occupied. We ordered spring rolls, fried noodles, and a potato/chicken curry. Surprisingly, they did not bring water to our table when we were seated or took our order. When I requested tap water with ice, I was given very few ice cubes that quickly melted away. The fried noodle dish arrived before the appetizer, and lacked flavor. The curry dish had dry and flavorless white meat, mushy potatoes, and a taste that resembled cheap curry cubes from a supermarket. The spring rolls were also disappointing, with a mushy filling. When we complained about the curry, the staff did not acknowledge our concerns. The prices were not cheap, totaling $39 before tip. We were given a menu with a sticker indicating price changes, and a QR code for an updated menu, but had to download a PDF to view it. I would not mind paying $40 for a meal if the quality of the food matched the price.
I absolutely love this restaurant in Marietta, Georgia. It seems like it will be a new favorite spot for me. The service was friendly and our food came out quickly and delicious. I am looking forward to a good night's sleep after enjoying such a satisfying meal.
I am not sure what has happened to this place. We went on a Friday evening party of 5 we got greeted and sat right away but then no one showed up for 1/2 hour we end up leaving the restaurant not a single person server came to us or cared for us. It's sad how bad the service has gone. This place has a good food but bad service.
I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, my overall experience fell flat. My review for 2/5 stars come from 5/5 stars for the food and 1/5 stars for the service. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. The resturant is casual cute. You could come here a little dressed up or in jeans, completely up to you. Shortly after being seated, a server came over and took our appetizer order. We got the roti telur immediately, which was incredible! The roti was soft and the curry was the perfect flavorful dipping sauce! This was where our experience started to go south. After we were done with our appetizers, someone different came by to take our main course orders. We also asked for waters at this point. Unfortunately, they forgot about us and we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food and water! The resturant was not busy at all and we frantically had to wave down a server when they announced that it was last call for the kitchen. We waited 15 more mins and the claypot pearl noodle and chilli chicken arrived. The chilli chicken was perfectly cripsy and the claypot pearl noodle was subtly flavorful and served piping hot. My boyfriends dish was not yet served, and we waited another 20 minutes before having to flag down another server for his chicken rendang. When it finally came, it was delicious and aromatic, but at this point, we were just upset about our experience and wanted to go home. I understand that mistakes happen, but the fact that we had to flag down three or four servers and that the mistake wasn't rectified within us mentioning it the first time was beyond dissapointing. I might try out one of their other locations, but unsure if I'll be back here.
