The Broadsheet Bistro - Edinburgh

We made a phone reservation for a convenient time, but upon arrival, the waitress told us they were fully booked. After persistently informing her three times, they managed to squeeze in a table for two. Despite a slow service, we enjoyed a nice lunch. We noticed an advertisement on the wall board for New Year's Eve offering stovies for £7.50 from 8 to 11 pm, which would be free with the purchase of a bottle of wine. We arrived at 8 pm as planned, but unfortunately, the stovies were not available until 9:15 pm, after the kitchen had closed.

We arrived at our booked table at 5:15 p.m., we had to wait 10 minutes, which was good, we only ordered main courses, as we had a show at 6:25 p.m., we were chasing our meal, which immediately came after, no communication from the staff. They ordered a bottle of Prosecco that they did not cool! We never got, even though they should cool it off. I guess the festival is up, but the place was not so busy and the service was exceptionally bad. When I paid the bill, I told the manager that they had lost money because they did not serve the drinks, the food was not fast enough to have a sweet one. He scrubbed his shoulders that was a shame when the food was actually good, we could not enjoy how we had to go to our show.

A completely round decent eating experience. we came to lunch on Monday after the visit of edinburgh castle. first we were insecure when it was open when the doors were closed, but after the sound of their phone were let in. the menu was simply directed with some Scottish who we tried. the haggis starter was quite tasty, served in deep fried balls it wasn't even fat. the plate was well presented and well flavored. for that we had the fried roast chicken. it was served on a bed of slender neps and tatties (massed puddies and carrots to those who do not know). it was especially delicious with the whisky cream sauce, but the tiny portion spinat meant that we had to order side by side.

Beautiful quiet location with affordable price. a bit too much sauce on the salads otherwise was the fish and the chips very tasty the staff is very attentive

Lunch here today (saturday afternoon). the place was empty so we had our selection of tables and the staff was very attentive. three of us all had sandwiches with suppe or chips. all enjoyed our meals and the price was very reasonable.
