Peacock Alley At Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh The Caledonian

I had a lovely afternoon tea at Peacock Alley on September 21, 2020. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing, making it a great spot to unwind with friends. I appreciated that the tables were set two meters apart instead of just one, which added to the feeling of safety. Kudos to the hotel for maintaining these safety measures. I highly recommend Peacock Alley for anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable place to have afternoon tea.

Perfection! We tried the gluten-free option, which was both delicious and quite filling. This restaurant has become our favorite spot for afternoon tea in Edinburgh. Not only was the food wonderful and beautifully presented, but the staff also made a significant difference. They were friendly, helpful, and provided exceptional personal service. Additionally, the harp music was delightful; I could have listened to her play all day. The harp created a lovely atmosphere, and everything was simply perfect. I had a delightful afternoon tea experience featuring excellent service, a beautiful setting, and a wide variety of cakes. However, the hearty fare fell a bit short; the bread was somewhat bland, and the flavors were all a bit muted. The desserts, on the other hand, were beautifully presented, and the flavors were truly remarkable (just remember to spread the jam after the scone, don’t be like me and put it on the scone first!). The Valentine’s-themed cocktail was delicious, and the teas were among the best I’ve ever tried. Despite the minor drawbacks, three hours flew by, and overall it was a fantastic afternoon!

5 stars hotel and location, 4 stars staff and 3 stars for eating.
