The Glasshouse Edinburgh

I visited this restaurant multiple times during my holiday in Edinburgh. The first time, the service was excellent despite the busy atmosphere. Our drinks arrived promptly after ordering, followed shortly by our food. However, on subsequent visits, we experienced long waits for our drinks, even after multiple trips to the bar. I was surprised by the delay in receiving a draft beer and a bottle of cider.

The restaurant was bustling with a lively atmosphere on 20/08/2022. The staff were friendly and provided good service. However, I have to mention the terrible condition of the toilets. They were absolutely disgusting, with overflowing sanitary bins causing a nauseating smell in the ladies' restroom. It was a struggle to even be in there, as the choice was between holding your breath or risk wetting yourself.

We came to birthday dinner. the personal was pleasant enough, but a mite dynam. we chose the steak. the first attempt gave us a false cooked and both cold. the second test gave us a properly cooked and the other boiled wrongly. at this time we were very hungry, so they just ate. to be fair, the steak was tasty and tender and the chips were great! the worker's statement was that the right chef was not present and was replaced by an agency chief. the restaurant was very quiet and something lacked in the atmosphere. they also need to be very fit to handle the walk from reception area to restaurant and a orientation qualification would be helpful.

Was not impressed by the ridiculous journey through the hotel to get to the restaurant (or functional space). the room lacked in an atmosphere, partly because we were the only ones there and partly because the curtains were closed. the eating looked all very pretty but my starter (crayfish) tasted nothing but gurke and nowhere near enough sauce. the net (pork) was tasteless, but again very well presented. the desserts were ok, but not good enough to let them forget about the two previous courses. not likely we will eat there again.

The service was impeccable. more pleasant and well furnished dining area. the food was excellent, slightly seasoned, so that to show the natural aromas.
