The City Cafe - Edinburgh, City of

A short late night stop in here, beautiful American Diner, we had the best nachos here! Nice drink menu too. Can be busy. There is also a pool table here when it takes your imagination!

The City Café is located in a fantastic location when you visit Edinburgh as it is just outside the Royal Mile. We fight to find places where we can take the dog to the place, but are also gluten-free options. We saw a sign at the door available over a fully vegan menu, so we thought we would risk it and ask if they were gluten free. Wow, we're so glad that we, the breakfast rolls we ordered were fantastic, thought it was just one of every item, but that was loaded with twice as much as we expected for a big price. Both the GF option and the others were equally nice. The venue is cool and trendy and looks like a real old school space. The menu choice for later the day also looked fantastic. Very recommended.

This was such a cute bar that we stumbled upon. Proper America diner with breakfast food served all day (Yes Please!! Drinks were lovely, good music on the speakers and the staff were fabulous. Would hundred percent recommend if you're on The Royal Mile. On the plus side: veggie haggis. Oh, even better!

Fantastic staff! Staff welcomed not only us but also our dog. really really friendly and very comfortable. One staff even brought a water bowl for my dog!!! Very touching and we really are grateful their kind service and smiling!

Had a traditional Scottish breakfast and my wife had scrambled eggs and toast. Great “black pud” and haggis. Looking forward to my next visit for porridge. Atmosphere had USA feel. Dining room is spacious with lots to look at. Great play list of music playing. Service was friendly but a little spotty.
