I wanted to introduce my American friends to Scottish cuisine, so I booked this restaurant last minute since it was close to the bar we were at. I'm so glad we did because it was a fantastic find! The food was excellent and delicious. We decided to try the Scottish tasting experience with a 6-course meal, and I highly recommend it. The presentation was impressive, the flavors were delicious, and the service from the staff was top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We were a group of 10 people celebrating our completion of bachelor's degrees by dining at this restaurant. We chose to dine here to experience a taste of Scotland before traveling abroad, and the cellar room exceeded our expectations. Unique dishes such as haggis and pork belly were presented in an innovative manner, with flavors that harmonized beautifully. The Haggis Parcel starter was absolutely delicious, offering a new take on traditional haggis preparation. For my main course, I thoroughly enjoyed the Ayrshire Pork Belly, which was seasoned perfectly and complemented by apple sauce. The mashed potatoes were also outstanding. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, creating a warm and homely ambiance. Our waiter was attentive and provided excellent service. The portions were generous, leaving us feeling satisfied and longing for more due to the delicious flavors. While the Ribeye steak was not particularly special, the other dishes were truly outstanding and unique. Overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem in Edinburgh that is well worth a visit for those looking to experience authentic Scottish cuisine.

The drink pairings and service enhanced our dining experience. We opted for the 6-course tasting menu and found the food to be satisfactory but not remarkable. However, some of the wine pairings were exceptional and delightful. The service was prompt and impeccable.

We stumbled upon this gem after touring the castle and did the taste of Scotland 6 course meal with drink pairing and the entire meal was fantastic! The service was amazing and we even had a serenade from a chorus that was visiting. 100% would recommend if you are in Edinburgh.
