Suruchi - Edinburgh, City of

My search for an Indian restaurant in the city led me to Suruchi, but I was somewhat disappointed. The food was mediocre (not terrible, but I have had better Indian dishes at other restaurants in the city, like Mother India). The service was lacking and we found it to be overpriced. Perhaps it deserves a second chance, but not any time soon.

The restaurant needs to understand that customers are important. We had a reservation for this restaurant, but the waiter informed us that the restaurant was fully booked for the next three days, even though 80% of the tables were empty. It was frustrating that he didn't offer us the option to wait or consider another option.

We visited this restaurant as a group of 40 members during our trip to Edinburgh. The quality of the food was okay and the ambience was decent, though the interior could have been cleaner. Unfortunately, we encountered closed toilets during our visit. The highlights were the chicken dishes and the hospitable service.
