Went for dinner restaurant was pleasant and food was tasty the location was convenient as we were staying in a b&b near by

Food is local or Orkney inspired. staff exceptional, relaxed but attentive. it offers a unique style of service.

Across the road from our B&B was a handy choice for dinner. We started with haggis bon bons, then I had the pork belly with some salad and my wife had a butternut squash soup. Everything tasted great. The service was good. A bit pricey for the amount of food received.

Not a massive selection, but was was there was excellent. They are limited on seating and it is more of a bar/lounge setting so make sure you book in advance, but certainly one of the best hotel restauants I've eaten in.

Upon arriving at the hotel that houses this restaurant, we confirmed our dinner plans for the evening. The receptionist mentioned that they were aware I was a vegetarian, which initially gave me hope that they would have options for me. However, upon perusing the menu online, I found nothing suitable for vegetarians. When I arrived for dinner, the standard menu offered no vegetarian dishes. The waitress suggested mushroom risotto, but it contained parmesan, which is not vegetarian-friendly. The staff seemed confused about dietary restrictions, which was disappointing. Eventually, the chef offered to make a carbonara linguine without chicken and bacon. However, I was charged extra for this modification. The rest of the meal was marred by this experience, as the carbonara was overly creamy and did not follow traditional preparation with egg yolk. The staff's lack of understanding of dietary requirements was evident, and the overall experience left much to be desired. I would not return to this restaurant, especially given the abundance of options for vegetarians at other establishments. Every restaurant should be able to accommodate alternative diets without causing embarrassment to the guest. This was a letdown for our anniversary meal, and I had expected better service.
