Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant has really declined in terms of cleanliness and appearance. The paint is peeling off the toilet doors, the furniture looks dirty, and the tables appear to not have been cleaned. The flat white we ordered was served ice cold, but was replaced when we pointed it out. However, they were very stingy with the sugar. We are hesitant to return until they make upgrades to the restaurant.
Amazing. We visited this restaurant on our first night and were not let down. The food was outstanding and the staff were friendly and quick. Despite the crowds, we were able to easily get a table because we dined early. It truly lives up to the Stockbridge information site's description as a combination of a city pub and a village local. We felt very welcomed. My friend ordered haggis, neeps, and tatties, while I opted for the crofter's pie. Both dishes were delicious. If you are heading into Edinburgh, there is a bus stop conveniently located right outside the restaurant.
The staff were friendly and helpful, making it a great place to grab some hot food after a stroll around the Botanic Gardens during the Christmas season.
Go here quite often for a drink but went for food this time ,the nachos . It arrived and it was cold with squeezy cheese sauce . Tasteless aka yuc. They did replace it with real cheese on a complaint .They did ,point out it did say Cheese sauce on the menu(my bad) but when the next attempt came back it had virtually no real cheese and was stuck together like superglue . The brisket addition was good however but not the nachos . But nice bar for a drink . I won’t be back for food . Service is ace , just not the food I had was really poor .
Hectors is such a lovely and friendly place where to go in the charming district of Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Its’ a pub, a local meeting point for local friends or even more, for strangers who like to share delicious moments with Scottish people. Food in there is great, various and generous. The owners, such as the waiters, are all very kind and have the pretty rare quality of welcome. When you enter inside, time has no sense anymore… You just appreciate the beauty of its location, with large windows opened to the street. What ever if it’s sunny or rainy, for lunch or diner (and the rest the day, by the way), you feel at home, comfy and surrounded by smiles. A must see and experience to live in Edinburgh !
