Wife fancied a treat so we went to eats for the first time. We have ordered Daim milkshakes, daim cookie dough, jammie dodger traybake and a kinder traybake. Daim cookie dough was nice but the melted caramel got stuck in your teeth which ruined it a bit. Milkshakes were decent but I’ve certainly had better. I don’t think the Daim flavour goes too well in a milkshake. The jammie dodger traybake was quite nice but my wife thought her kinder one was too sickly. Customer service was really good and the woman that served was very friendly. Overall, pretty average dessert place. There’s quite a few like this in the area (sugar and ice, kaspas, sweet paradise and a few others). Cheap and easy desserts, lacking a little quality.
I used to get coffee from here all the time when it was under previous management as was on my way to work. Since it’s been taken over I’ve had ONE good coffee made by the blond young girl and she was lovely. The guy made an awful one few days after but today was awful! I asked the girl to make it a bit warmer as it can be like warm sometimes and she not only burnt the milk that’s how hot it was she also filled it to the top so it ended up all over the car. When someone says make it warmer that doesn’t mean burn the milk so we can’t drink it. I don’t know how these guys are getting away with charging more than £3 for a coffee yet the staff have 0 training re making the coffees that cost the same as a big coffee store! Safe to say I will take the detour and go elsewhere from now. Ps. Tried calling before leaving this “the mobile phone is switched off” so can’t contact them either
As being someone who is lactose intolerant it’s so hard to find dessert items which are suitable people like myself. The staff very lovely and friendly definitely will return.
I make it a point to visit this place almost every day. They have the best coffee in Edinburgh and the Lothians by a long shot. The staff, including the girls and Jeff, are all friendly and bubbly. I much prefer this place over Costa or Starbucks. In addition to a variety of hot and cold drinks, they also offer breakfast rolls, toasties, snacks, and more.
