Bailie - Edinburgh, City of

I have previously reviewed the Bailie restaurant, the first time being in 2019 when I dined with my late husband. We enjoyed a delicious meal on that occasion. I have returned since then and noticed that the prices have increased. During my visit yesterday, I found the prices to be quite high compared to other pubs. However, the food is still tasty. Unfortunately, they no longer serve the cajun chicken dish and the portion size of fries has been reduced. I opted for the 1/2 fillet of haddock, which was enjoyable. I am unsure if I will return in the future. The restaurant was relatively quiet during my visit, with the exception of two women who eventually settled on ordering the soup after studying the menu for a while.

The staff at this bar in Stockbridge are what make it the best. Morgan, Angus, Tom, and the girls - we miss Lauren, Caitlin, and Courtney - provide exceptional service. The atmosphere is welcoming and they take care of you like a good local pub should. It serves the best pint of Tennants in Edinburgh and the food is amazing. It's a true locals pub. Make sure to visit and enjoy.

I had the best experience at this restaurant! Sarah provided excellent service, she was attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious as well!! I highly recommend this place.

Superb “locals” pub, only 20 mins from Central Edinburgh. Booked in for a meal in the bar area, good tasty food, great beer and wine. Fantastic atmosphere. It’s a bit of a walk but not that far really. It’s worth it. Highly recommended!

What a little gem, wonderful service Very friendly staff, food outstanding, pleasant cosy eating area and delightful atmosphere. Best bar by far in Stockbridge. Will most definitely return!
