At Best Western Braid Hills

My party dined at this restaurant on a Friday night in the private dining area known as the library. Wang introduced herself and was very pleasant. The staff were extremely courteous, always knocking on the door before entering. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. However, we were disappointed with the drink service. We ordered two bottles of Prosecco which were brought to the table unopened and were not poured for us. No ice buckets were provided either. When we wanted more drinks, we had to track down Wang to place another order. The same issue occurred when we ordered wine and beer - the bottles were left unopened on the table with no ice buckets. As a group of 9 adults, we could have spent more money on alcohol, but due to the poor drink service, we decided to leave and continue our evening elsewhere. The bar staff seemed inexperienced and didn't know how to make certain drinks. It's unfortunate that the service did not meet our expectations, as the hotel is lovely with great views and the food was enjoyable. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and I will inform my friends of our experience.

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. Although the food was good, the service was poor and did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us and we had trouble finding someone to help us. We were only given water at our table and had to go to the bar ourselves for other drinks. Our reserved table was in a dark corner, while better tables were given to others. After finishing our main course, we were left with dirty plates in front of us for a long time as all the staff seemed to have disappeared. When a staff member finally came, they cleared a table nearby and offered dessert to them instead of us. Because of these issues, we decided not to have dessert or coffee. Overall, this was not a great experience considering the price we paid.

We've had our breakfast here whilst staying here and can't fault it or the service plenty of choice nicely laid out. We had an evening meal here yes the menu is scaled down due to time of year but the food we had was gorgeous nice sized portions again with great service

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my husband. As he was driving I had his Prosecco as well as my own. It was really nice dry and cold. The sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. The scones with fresh cream and jam were a good size and also fresh. Tea and coffee hot. The service was great and we were asked if everything was ok midway through. Tried our best but we didn’t manage to eat all the cakes. Will definitely return with friends.

We had their afternoon tea with a glass of fizz The place looks great and the staff were very welcoming I would have liked to have been given some choices, but it appears to be a set thing. The sandwiches were a very good egg, a nice ham on toast and a fairly limp smoked salmon bun The cakes were decent and all tasty. The scones were also good I'd like to come back for a meal as sme of this felt like it was good by luck, and was maybe prepped some time in advance
