Had a ‘significant’ birthday celebration here, could not fault the service from the initial greeting to a fantastic meal. Gluten free options available and all eight diners enjoyed their meal. The young server was polite and attentive without being intrusive. We were warmly greeted with a complimentary glass for birthday lady, whole dining experience was exceptional. Couple weeks ago me and my fiancé popped to Old Mill Restaurant totally unexpectedly and what a nice place we found! The service was just spot on, the nice gentleman that welcomed us was really attentive and we can't fault him at all, sane with ladies that worked there at the same time but he was really great. Haven't been served so well in so long! The food was delicious (we both went for different variations of ciabatta, I have loved every bite of my falafel and sweet potato one! , we didn't have to wait long between meals either and there was no disappointment at all. We loved it there and we will be back soon! Oh did I mentioned the dessert? Anyone have to go for dessert especially lemon marangue tart/pie... Vegetarian options: I'm veggie and I really like the choice of veggy stuff. Had a lovely lunchtime meal here for my mums birthday, they even left a birthday card on the table which was a nice touch! Their 2 course bottomless prosecco lunch was great, kept topping up our glasses throughout the meal. Enjoyed the battered fish and chips for main course, lovely piece of fresh fish, only wish they 'd put a few more chips on the plate. They had a fabulous choice of deserts, wanted all of them, the vanilla and raspberry cheesecake with clotted cream ice cream was delicious! All the food was presented well and you could tell the chef had great attention to detail. The renovation from the flour mill into a restaurant has been done very well, keeping original features such as wheels that have been highlighted nicely. Wasn 't much of an atmosphere for lunchtime, I imagine it 's better for dinner. The toilets need a mention, the female had birds singing while using it, with faux foliage on the ceiling and bird wallpaper, quirky environment! And apparently the male was a bond theme with the soundtrack playing while you 're in there. Another nice touch was when the bill came in a small envelope with the words 'The Damage ' written on it, which gave us a giggle at the end! Parking: The only downside is the limited parking to the front of the restaurant, shared with other shops as its an independent car park. Make sure to arrive with plenty of time before your reservation to ensure you have somewhere to park. First hour is free though and isn 't very expensive to pay the rest, only a couple of pounds.
