Urban Ground - Eastbourne

Positives: very friendly staff and nice atmosphere, absolutely delicious food which was well presented and with good quality ingredients. Negatives: I was surprised to be changed so much for so small a portion. One piece of toast with two poached eggs and a flat white coffee and I was charged over £10. The business probably charges what it has to to cover overheads, wages, etc and stay afloat but when you leave after paying £10 odd feeling as hungry as when you went in you can't help feeling a bit put out. I pass most days and would pop in if it were cheaper but it'll be more of a once-in-a-while thing I think.

This is my go-to place when I want some alone time. I always feel relaxed sitting here with a good book, enjoying a tasty coffee and either a sweet treat or a full brunch/lunch. Currently, my favorites are the goat cheese ciabatta and avocado toast. I prefer a flat white or the new Aeropress for my coffee. The service is consistently excellent here. The staff is friendly and efficient, unlike other cafes in the area. Urban Ground always seems busy, but I've never had trouble finding a table. The atmosphere is wonderful and it's clear that everyone knows their role and performs it brilliantly. Thank you to the team for a great experience - you can keep taking my money!

This is my happy place. Sometimes I like to have an hour or two to myself with a good coffee and a great book. I am a regular visitor to Urban Ground because of the welcoming atmosphere, delicious coffee and superb service. The team are always super friendly and efficient.

The coffee was okay, but not as great as they say. They offer a good variety of snacks, muffins, and pastries. The cookie I had was excellent quality and definitely homemade. The atmosphere was busy with staff moving quickly. It might not be the best choice for a leisurely coffee. I prefer slower-paced coffee shops.

Really enjoyed our coffee and cake- good gluten free options for cakes and toast was also available. Clean and friendly. Short walk from the station. Menu looked good for breakfast and brunch too. Will have to go back!
