Simply Italian - Eastbourne

We have been dining at this restaurant for years whenever we are at Sovereign Harbour, but this time we decided to dine indoors. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, as there are often Italian patrons dining here, and the staff have always been very friendly and attentive. This time, we asked if we could film the pizza-making process for our granddaughters as we like to send them videos of our activities, especially since they live about 250 miles away. The chef was accommodating and allowed us to film. We always enjoy pizza as it is the best fast food option, and the pizzas here are large and you can watch them being made.

I made a reservation for Sunday lunch and found that it wasn't too crowded. The selection of food was good and the staff was very welcoming and provided excellent service. I will definitely return.

We had a fantastic experience at Simply Italian. Our party of 7, including my husband, our 3 children (ages 11, 10, 7), and my parents, enjoyed the welcoming and friendly staff who were patient and accommodating. The atmosphere was fun, relaxed, and inviting. The pizzas, risotto, and chicken were all delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely and memorable evening.

What a terrible restraurant! On our way back from taking our granddaughter to her afternoon riding lesson, we stopped here for a bite to eat. As an elderly gentleman, who has spent many years of his life in Italia, I expected this authentic looking Italian restaurant to serve up some delicious and fresh Italian food. Instead, what we received appeared and tasted like nothing more than plain microwave food. We could have picked up a nicer meal from ASDA, just around the corner. I suppose the pasta must have been pre-cooked and sat around for a long time, because it had the texture of mashed potato, and our poor granddaughter's pizza made her feel quite unwell. You wouldn't think a regular margherita pizza could be so foul. What made things worse was that we felt too uneasy to raise these problems with the staff, as they appeared quite unfriendly. One large man in particular looked so menacing that I feared he would knock me for six if we grumbled about our food. We will certainly not return here, and will recommend our friends do not visit.

Dog and people friendly. Furry friend loved the doggy ice cream. My lunch although basic was excellent. Highly recommended.
