We were greeted by a stoney faced barmaid and knew instantly we were going to be 'punished ' for being late for our table. We are on holiday in the area and got a little lost and were 15 minutes late so were told we would now have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for our table! Why? Had someone else taken it? The constable arms is a nice traditional pub. There is a wide choice of beers and largers including cask conditioned real ales. There is a large lounge, conservatory and separate bar with a pool table and dart board. The food is not the same as in other Marstons pubs they do there own. Live music every Saturday night. There are two outdoor seating areas and a large car park. Delicious home cooked food, Special menu days ...we first opted for a Thursday steak night steak is from gary Allen 's butchers in Hessle, High quality meat. Generous portions steak came with chips peas.. We then revisited on a Friday Fish chip day..once again quality of foid was high generous portions .
