Alpino Fish Chip Shop

I don't know if the standards have dropped, but I always visited this chip shop as I come from Barrhead and live in Paisley now. I won't be back. My brother picked up two fish suppers yesterday for our tea and it was ridiculous. Little crisp dregs for chips and the fish had dried up batter on it with hardly any fish. It looked as if it had been lying for hours and certainly wasn't what we are used to from Alpino. We were very disappointed, but because we were in Paisley and going out it wasn't feasible to go back and complain, but we certainly will be going elsewhere in future. If this is the standard of a fish supper then we won't be back. A fish supper is a treat nowadays and not cheap so you should therefore get what you pay for and this was a big let down!

This is the ONLY Fish and Chip shop I will visit. The quality is great and the hygiene is better than most places. Service is always with a smile.

I used to visit this restaurant for take away and to sit in. Bought food (take away) recently, was charged 5p more than the total price showing on display. Three members of staff argued for about 10 minutes saying the till price was the one they charged and kept saying they weren't going to argue with me over 5p while continuing to do exactly that. They also muttered and made their opinion clear. They eventually said they hadn't got round to updating the displayed price and insisted the boss said they must charge the price on the till, this is not legal I'm sure and I for one will not give my custom here again. Make sure you check the menu prices and take away displayed prices.

My family visited Alpino after being recommended to us by friends. We certainly weren't disappointed! We all ordered fish teas, they were cooked to order and it was honestly the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. It was very busy with most people having fish and chips. Can't wait to return!!!

Very very very overpriced, over £7 for a part of moderate chips and 2 portions mushy inherited!
