Bidrage med feedbackWassup Dog came to East Perth when we lived a 2 minute walk round the corner from it, so we were there in a shot after seeing the hype around these hot dogs on Instagram/Facebook. Since that first time we have been back on countless occasions, one Saturday morning even having a Wassup Dog spread for breakfast. My boyfriend very rarely strays from his beloved "Frenchman" - a beef dog topped with cheddar, camembert AND goats cheese as well as an apricot jam, served with (very good) fries and a salad. On occasion I have stolen a bite of his and cannot help but agree that it is delicious (even if a little naughty, worth it though). I on the other hand have tended to always go for a lighter option, which is another thing I love about Wassup Dog, the healthier options on the menu don't leave you depressed and deflated, as healthy alternatives often can. The 'Sexy Sausage salad' was the first I tried and got me hooked on their filling, tasty salads, but it wasn't until I tried the Moroccan Salad that I really fell in love with their food. (HUGE) Beef meatballs, on a bed of salad greens, topped with mint yoghurt and vinaigrette, it is a giant portion which leaves me stuffed every time, but other than that it tastes ridiculously good, the meatballs are delicious and the dressing even makes the salad itself taste really good.Aside from the food the staff are always lovely and attentive, it is a small shop with a small team and they always appear to be working their socks off, but always have time to have a chat and explain the menu. Worth a mention also is the décor inside the East Perth shop (I know they also a shop in Freo now), it is very quirky and 'Perth-ified' for want of a better word, with lots of decorations/décor/photos with a nod to the sunshine city itself. Although not living in the city any more, we still come back to Wassup Dog when we can, it is a great little spot with delicious food and I am excited to see where their next Bistro will pop up! (Hopefully near us.)
I've been coming here for a week now, I can't say i see myself stop going any time soon, love this place! #frenchman
I love the atmosphere of wassup dog and I love going there occasionally but I have been disappointed lately. The bread is a lot harder and there is less herbs and spring onions on the chips and dog. The chips are a lot oilier. Please improve it! I really loved the chips before.
Wassup Dog in the past made great hot dogs as well sensational chips. The chips were not oily and were seasoned nicely with rosemary and salt. Unfortunately, lately the standards have dropped. The chips are now a lot oilyer and there is very little of the rosemary seasoning. The are a few changes that I would recommend for their hot dogs. First, don't use wholemeal buns. Second, add more traditional hot dogs to the menu such as chillie dogs with brioche buns and a proper frankfurter topped with chillie con carne. If they add traditional hot dogs to the menu I think there would be a lot more customers. Wassup Dog need to be more consistent with their food as each time I eat it, it tastes slightly different (especially the chips).
Ordered the "Best Dog" and it was far from it. It was Oily, full of mayo and the roll wasLike cardboard, the fries could have taken me to Paris and back with the oil in it. The taste was well below average. This is not a hot dog !!! Never again !
