Bidrage med feedbackThe other day I have Elza? Restaurant Cafe Grill for lunch. Talk about some great food!!!! I ordered her Griot lunch plate w/ White Rice, Sos Pwa. The pig tips were great. Sos Pwa (bean sauce) was immaculate. And the whole meal was absolutely amazing. Haitian food in general is the best. The lady who took my order was very attentive and polite. This place was great. Atmosphere, tanning food and excellent customer service! Can't wait to try this place again. Would you recommend Elza?s to anyone looking for a great Hawaiian food in the area of East Orange!
A local Haitian restaurant found and thrilled that it is near me. ordered their lunch special Griot and Diriz kolé (Pork cunks with rice and beans for $9.99). Lunch specialities come with a drink per menu, but they forgot my drink. But check to confirm with the server. The food smelled so good, I couldn't wait. At first glance it was beautifully presented with some chopped peppers and onions on the fried pork bites like garnish. The meat engravings were a decent size, somewhat smaller than usual, but tasteful. The pig had a nice spice, not dry and well cooked. The rice was also well cooked. The tomato sauce was decent, not as flavored as I am used to, but also not bad. Overall, for my first time, I evaluate it a solid 4. The restaurant is small but picturesque and the hostess was friendly. Will be visited again to see if they are consistent and if other articles are just as good. Like now, thumb up.
I usually ride over this restaurant. From the Haitian restaurants I visited in the state, they were the most consistent. But today was different. I ordered oxtail. My first edition, the sauce was watery. The taste I expected when I ate haitiic oxtails was missing in this dish. Did you forget the epis? I refuse to pour water on my rice. The rice, which is usually tasteful, was again, not as an appetite. Not sure whether his measuring cups we don't use as people, but this hit or misconception we have in our restaurant culture must end. I don't know if you turn your chefs, if so, please stop. Let people who know how to cook and cook well consistently take the lead. I am both embarrassing and skeptical about the fact that non-Hungarians order Haitian food because of the inconvenience. 2022, please do better. I was disappointed. I paid less in the nearby Jamaica restaurant and enjoyed it more.
The food here is amazing. It's a bit expensive, but it's worth it! I prefer to spend a few extra dollars for well seasoned clean Haitian food then blanding / brushed Haitian food. I've never had a problem with customer service, so I guess the problem was fixed to read previous posts, and the place is nice and clean. I would recommend it very much.
Okay, they are pricey and their portions are small. For the amount of food you can get here, you can get twice the amount and thensome for the same price at another Haitian restaurant. I just think it's unfair that another restaurant's large size platter, is the same price as their small size platter. One good thing about this place is that the restaurant looks clean and there is always parking.
