Swagath Indian Cuisine - East Lansing

Visiting East Lansing from California, and Indian cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines! I love spicy dishes! I stayed in Okemos for a few days and decided to try Persis Indian Grill, I ordered chicken vindaloo EXTRA SPICY and I was disappointed TWICE! I’m happy I came here because Swagath delivered! The flavor is amazing and the spice is kickin’! It’s been a challenge finding spicy authentic Indian food and I’m so happy I gave this restaurant a try! This location will now be my go to spot whenever I’m in town. Thank you for not being scared to spice it up! However, the rice was not a good batch, or at least it wasn’t what I’m used to back in California. I enjoy my rice cooked to perfection! Other than that, everything was great! The young man who took our order was very hospitable. I’m looking forward to trying more of your flavorful food. Thank you!

Great Indian food and great service. There dining room is unique as well. The kitchen or back of the restaurant is set off from the main dining area by a large curtain. The food appears with flourish! I enjoy the tikka masala here and the chili paneer. The portions are sizable enough for two. 5/5.

We ate at Swagath on New Year’s Day 2023, and it was a fantastic experience! There were five of us, and we shared five different entrees plus two appetizers. So many vegetarian options, with choice as to how spicy. The restaurant was so clean, and the service was friendly and fast. What a great dinner. We’ll definitely go back.

The place had decent ambience. The food was good but not extraordinary. The service was good and quick. The owner came and asked for feedback in the middle of our meal which was different as compared to other places. Overall a decent place to have an Indian meal but not extraordinary.
