The Country Bumpkin

We stopped on our way back after a Sunday morning lunch. Although we are local it was our first time to visit. We weren't disappointed, friendly service , good helpings and lovely food. We had the halloumi breakfast. Plenty of seating inside and out, although it got very busy while we were there, and looks like lots of easy parking in the stable car park opposite. Really nice spot

Today, I visited the restaurant with my daughter and grandson. The service was fast and efficient, the prices were reasonable, and the food was fantastic. We decided to go based on the recommendation of family friends, and it was definitely worth the visit. We will definitely be returning in the future.

I ordered a large meaty breakfast and a coffee for £12. While the prices were a bit on the expensive side, the food was fresh and tasty. However, there were some odd aspects to the service. The table I was seated at was not very clean and was not set up at all. When staff brought my coffee, it only came with a spoon and no sugar. The staff also seemed a bit distracted or distant. These minor details were a bit disappointing. Overall, it seemed like just an off day for the restaurant. The food was tasty, but the service could use some improvement.

I came in for Saturday brunch with my son. We were served quickly and I was very pleased with the COVID procedures they have implemented. I had the delicious 'townie toast' (smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on Dreams granary bread) and enjoyed it in the sunshine with a refreshing coffee. I highly recommend this place.

Really good food, excellent service which is also quick. Just a lovely place to eat in the middle of nowhere
