Man's Chinese Takeaway - East Hampshire

While visiting friends in Alton, we decided to order takeout. Unfortunately, I would not return to this restaurant as the meal was not up to par for several reasons. Additionally, as I drove by later, I noticed the poor condition of the front of the building and the dirty net curtains in the upstairs windows. This made me question the cleanliness of their kitchen and food storage areas.

I recently tried this restaurant for the first time after moving to Alton, and it was a great discovery! It's the best Chinese food we've ever had, the delivery was quick, the prices are really reasonable, and the food had no grease and delicious flavors. Although their website was a bit outdated and difficult to navigate, we now have a menu ready for our next visit.

Every May/June, Man's Chinese Restaurant is the kids' top choice. We have never had a bad experience here. With four birthdays close together, we visit every other week for a special treat. We don't eat out often, but when we do, it's for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, or Christmas. We've tried other Chinese restaurants in Alton, but Man's is always our favorite. The food is delicious and not greasy like other places.

The quality of the food is always very good. Service is not the most friendly though, always seems somewhat chaotic when you go in to order and the staff are a bit abrupt. Portion sizes are small compared to others in town.

We have used this place 3 times in the past few months. We have collected each time and the food has always been nice and hot by the time we get it home. Staff on the front desk could may be a little happier and polite. Food has been of a good quality each time, only negative feedback would be their portions can be smaller than elsewhere but for the same price.
