The Rising Sun Wimborne - East Dorset

The Riding Sun has quickly become my favourite pub in Wimborne. It’s cosy, always busy, nice decor, friendly staff, great bands and today we decided to eat for the first time. We ordered the loaded fries to share from the specials board. Just what we needed and delicious with plenty of topping and a good portion!

Oh my gosh. So refreshing to find a real pub. The warm welcome on arrival to the goodbye. Everything was amazing. Service, food and the wonderful atmosphere makes this a must do. The pub itself is set on a small winding river in the heart of the beautiful Dorset town of Wimborne. This is a very traditional pub that takes me back to my childhood with great memories. The atmosphere was wonderful when we arrived with lots of locals enjoying fine fair. So the food just amazing remembering this is a pub but providing high quality well cooked food from around the world. We had wonderful pink roast beef. You can have it other ways. Hunters chicken the best ever and for my wife as she likes a little spice food from Morocco. All this food served with good quality wine and ales. What is also nice in these had times they don’t fleece you. We don’t go out very much as when you do it’s bad service and overpriced food. Well done Rising Sun. Thank you guys for all your hard work. I have only one negative and that we felt cold. We did bring jackets but maybe that is just us. Please put the log burner on. It’s always nice to arrive in a pub with that log smoke smell.

This place is a little gem. Great food sitting by a stream. Very deceptive as it doesn’t look so spacious when you walk in but such a pleasant surprise.

Visited this pub during the town folk festival and what a great time we had, friendly staff quick service and great music, very well run and will definitely return. Well done keep up the good work!!!

This was the second time we have had lunch here and found it excellent. Delicious food, freshly cooked and piping hot and very reasonable price. We sat inside, but it was sunny so quite a few people were in the lovely outdoor space by the river. It's a gem of a place and Liv is a real star. Thank you for making our visit such a pleasure.
