Bidrage med feedbackVery disappointed, room unclean , twin room as away with friend, one bed not fit for purpose , mattress sunk in the middle due to missing slats, threadbare curtains and generally not clean . Only alternative when we complained was a single room meaning we were separated and we had come away as friends together, no offer of a refund , refund of breakfast or parking just nothing!!
This quaint and historic pub and hotel is located near Exeter city center, just a short walk from the Quay Car Park. The food served here is of excellent quality for a chain restaurant.
Room 109 was comfortable with a clean bathroom, but the breakfast room desperately needs an update. The carpet is old and in poor condition. There was only one person handling breakfast orders, coffee, juice, and clearing tables, which was overwhelming for them. The pub serves good food at a fair price in a convenient location, but it is clear that it is popular and receives a lot of customers. It is time to invest in renovating the public areas to match the high quality of the food and service. Regular customers deserve a refreshed and inviting atmosphere to keep them coming back.
Let me say that in the past we have eaten here without any problems. BUT OMG on Moday 6 November we waited an hour for our food to be served. It took me 10 minutes in aqueue at the bar to order, there was no sign of barman as it seems that he was also serving food. There were 2 groups of 2 ladies waiting to order, they had been waiting for quitea while when they aordered fortheir partoes they asked how long service would be they were told half an hour. I had to go to te hotel recption to finda duty manger, When the food came my wifes jacket potatoem skin was inpoossible to cut. It seems to me that the staff were run ragged this is no way to run a business when WETHERSPOONS IS DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THIS PUB
I stayed at the White Hart (Marston’s) as part of a tour group. Sadly the rooms were outdated, unclean and carpet moth eaten We were given a 20% discount voucher for dinner, there was only one chef on duty, fellow guests had waited an hour for their food so I opted for the Wetherspoons over the road. Breakfast was good, choices included hot breakfast. And the location was good, only a couple of minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Quayside. On check out, there was no staff on reception so was not able to speak with staff about the experience. I would never stay here again.
