Bidrage med feedbackI have been to S&C many times. But nowadays It has changed. Taste gone bad. Service very bad. Oil they use on chilli chicken and tandoori chicken smells bad. May be old oil. They are reusing, that too on peak hours (Sunday after noon . I wonder how much stock of bad oil these people have : . On lunch buffet, they intentionally delay the refills. I have the experience of waiting more than 30mins for some items. Still I didnt get that. If you think the preparation may take time for some items, they do this for fruits too. I dont think it will take more than 15mins to cut a cantaloupe. I think this is how they match the so called reduced buffet price.
Typically their lunch buffet menu items taste good. But at dinner, it could be a hit or miss. One of our friends had to send some food back to the kitchen to fix it. They did it, so be it a little hesitantly. Another time, when we ordered for take out (got lentil (daal makhani , potato+caulifolower (aloo gobi and 2 other items . The lentil was really raw and hard, while the potato and cauliflower were half cooked. So we called the restaurant to explain the problem and ask if they could deliver the items (and we would send back the problem items . Their response was that it is cooked properly! Then we tried explaining that the food was indeed not cooked well, and the phone suddenly got disconnected. So we tried calling back immediately, and got the busy tone. After that we tried calling them 5 more times through out the next 15 min and still got the busy tone. We figured they left the phone unhooked, and decided to go to the restaurant to return the items. When we got there, the person at the counter, pretended as if he did not know what was wrong with the phone. He did not acknowledge our problem. So I asked him to taste the food and let us know if that’s the normal way the dish should taste. He did not taste it. So we asked to see the cook (who happens to be part owner of the restaurant , so we can give him the feedback directly. The person at the counter asked us to wait for few mins, went inside and came back and decided to refund our money. (This part is fine . We waited for 15 min and got impatient for having to wait so long to give feedback (that I assumed the owner might want to hear from his customers . So we asked the person at the counter to check how long we would have to wait. He hesitated and tried to dissuade us to talk to the owner/chef. Upon insisting, he went in and comes back and tells us that unfortunately the chef has left the restaurant : We really did not know how to respond to this... the owner was to scared to face a disgruntled customer or he did not just care enough for our feedback. Either way, the CUSTOMER SERVICE REALLY SUCKS and the AVERAGE FOOD QUALITY does not deserve a trip to this restaurant.
Rich and a fulfilling experience. Their authentic South Indian delicacies have a lot to portray about Indian dining. I have been to spice curry several times, both for lunch dinner, and everyone who was with me loved it.
The worst Indian food I have ever had, and I have been to many Indian restaurants. My dish was watered down, like they had a few leftovers and were trying to stretch them. The naan tasted only half cooked. Seriously, save your money and go to one of the other restaurants nearby like Bombay Grille.
Spice and Curry, as promised, is sublime and beautiful. When I want a decadent Navaratana Kurma simmered in heavy cream and even heavier spices, I 'd be amiss to look anywhere else. There are at least 5 Indian places that are closer to my house than Spice and Curry, but the trek is completely worth it. I prefer ordering off the menu, but the lunch buffet is superior to most, with many more vegetarian options and a higher than average basic spice level. The samosas aren 't too dry and the mango lassi is perfectly cooling. What can I say about the crisp, yet soft garlic naan except mmm. I 'm an Indian food fiendess, as my reviews might show. If you 're looking for a light meal, then you should look elsewhere, but if you 're looking for a light meal then Indian food isn 't your best bet anyway. Go to Spice Curry when you need to bliss out on mind altering spices and rich, luxuriant sauces.
