Melo Trattoria Tapas - Durham

Had dinner there tonight for the first time. Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Menu could use a few more options (no eggplant, no manicotti, no spinach stuffed shells but 4 ravioli dishes, just with different sauces). Albondigas (3good sized meatballs) had nice chunky tomato/marinara sauce that wasn't overly garlicky. My husband had the veal and said it wasflavorful, though a bit thicker and tougher than he expected. His parmesan mashed potatoes were dry and pretty bland with alittle parm sprinkled on top. My ravioli was nice: al dente with the same good sauce as the tapas meatballs. Wine prices werewhat we expected (approx. 2x what you'd pay for the same bottle at the store). We were hoping for some nice rustic Italianbread, so we were a bit disappointed with our 3 yeast rolls (not that yeast rolls aren't delicious). We had a reservation andwere seated pretty quickly, but service was kind of slow ordered entrees at 7 and they arrived at 8. Not a bad meal orexperience, just nothing special.

Good food as usual, good atmosphere , the family will be back!

This place is makes delicious food From their salads (berry, berry spinach salad my absolutely favorite) , their dinner plates and tapas are delicious. The meat ball tapas remind me of my grandma?s meatballs. The staff is friendly and professional withamazing service. I am definitely delighted with this restaurant. I will give it 10 stars. We only are able to come twice a year (Valentines our anniversary) because we live an hour and 20 mins away but no matter how much we spend or how casual we are dressed (currently tshirt and blue jeans with ball caps) we are treated like a millionaires! Curly and the staff are pleasant and accommodating?not to mention all with a a smile in theirs eyes (COVID?masks). Highlyrecommend reservations, they usually don?t make same day reservations. This place is the triangle?s hidden gem. Always packedalways great food, always good service?always.

Had a great carry out meal from Melo. Chicken Parmesan and house salad. Great flavor, they included bread and the staff could not have done a better job. Great place for excellent food.
