Handy Chinese - Durham

I always enjoy eating at this place whenever my family and I take a trip to LA. Their General Tso's chicken and fried rice are the best Chinese dishes I have ever tried.

This restaurant offers classic, no-nonsense Chinese cuisine that is freshly prepared right in front of you. It has quickly become my new favorite spot in North Durham!

The food is always delicious, with generous portions and incredibly fast service. The prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Great small family business. no, this is not 5 stars kitchen, but it is excellent for a many number of mainly Cantonese and Hunan dishes, with some special dishes thrown for variety. Eating is consistent, orders are quickly filled, and prices are great. I've been there for 5 years and never got disappointed.

My parents recently bought a house in northern Durham, less than 2 miles from Handy Kitchen. Turns out this is going to be a problem because it's so good and fast that I end up eating there way too much. The egg drop soup can be a little gloppy like they didn't wisk the thickener enough, but the taste and ratio of egg to liquid is great. The sweet and sour pork was nicely crisp and good quality meat. The chicken lo main has been a crowd favorite. So was the honey chicken, btw they give you a ton of sauce so you can douse your food. Pork fried rice has nice chunks of meat in it. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is their definition of spicy. I've asked for spicy twice and feel both time it was pretty mild.
