Alivia's Durham Bistro

Never before was there the menu and the pictures over opentable. looks more like a date night restaurant, but was really more of a local bar/ pub, the service was very good. the menu was modest as online only because they ran an alumni weekend unfortunately for us, the items we wanted were not on the alumni washing menu. they have a beautiful outdoor area and an open area to hang great place to restaurant when they are in their 20's or maybe early 30's. I would have loved this place when I was younger. that said the food quality was quite good for a bistro (I.e Bar/Pub) . many tvs above the bar with sport. I probably won't go back, but not because it was bad, it was really good, just not my scene. but if you're younger, do it.

We have been in alivias three times since the takeover of the chef brand mishalanie and eating is always excellent. it is wonderful that there is a restaurant in durham with several excellent vegetarian options! we have actually chosen! the soon-at-home makes it even more fun. the cheeseless mac and the cheese and the brussels sprouts were great!

Our dinner was wonderful - we didn't care about the steak, but that was a personal preference. our waiter was attentive and gave good suggestions, we loved his appetizer recommended for the brüssel sprouts appetizer.

We have never had a problem at Alivia's until last week, Valentine's Day. We even had a reservation (through OpenTable). We sat for 17 minutes and no sever came by to take our drink order. I finally went to the bar and asked for 2 waters. After 20 minutes, I found the hostess and complained. She was very apologetic and went to look for someone. Another 5 minutes, no server, so we left and we won't return.
