Bidrage med feedbackThe new owners have completely revamped the restaurant, and it looks beautiful. The donuts still taste the same, which is great, but I was really disappointed with the change in quality for the breakfast sandwiches. They used to be my favorite part of the experience—made with great cheese, real eggs, and sausage, and they even cut them in half for easy eating on the go. Now, they seem comparable to frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches. I'm relieved that the donuts are still delicious, but it's hard to watch such a nostalgic staple place change so drastically.
Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be under Bob and Norma's ownership. They've attempted to transform this local donut shop into a large-scale variety store. The main appeal of this shop used to be the donuts, but now the menu is so extensive that it's almost ridiculous, and the donuts themselves have lost almost all their flavor. It's really disappointing; I was hoping the new owners would have worked to maintain the charm of this place as it once was.
I've driven past Go For Donuts numerous times early in the morning and have always wanted to stop in. While I'm not usually a big fan of donuts or coffee, I sometimes get cravings for them. I arrived at 6:40 AM, and Michelle greeted me with a cheerful smile and took great care of me. I ordered a ham, egg, and cheese everything bagel, a #2 ham and cheese omelet with rye toast, and an apple fritter. I also picked up a maple-frosted cinnamon roll, an apricot-filled chocolate-frosted donut, a glazed sour cream donut, an angel cream donut, and a custard-filled donut topped with chocolate frosting. Everything was fantastic!
The food is excellent, all made in house with fresh ingredients. Owner and staff super nice and welcoming and the space is cute.Kid-friendliness: Good family spot
