Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant was disappointingly bad. The servers were absent and clueless, with the waiter taking orders while facing a computer terminal in the corner of the room with his back turned to the dining area. The waiter appeared unclean and gave off a strong odor. The food was mediocre at best, with flavorless garlic mushrooms, overcooked steak, raw sausage, and a chicken breast that was cut in half and shared with another dish. The chips seemed barely related to actual potatoes. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but it felt like it was just thrown together without much care.
Stayed here for a night with friends and family. The tall guy staff (we were told he was one of the managers) that welcomed us wasn’t really welcoming and helpful at times. We booked bedrooms but due to not having enough people as some...cancelled he decided that we shouldn’t get a key for of the rooms that we booked for, even though we paid and will not get a refund for it apparently, we are no longer entitled to use the room as there isn’t enough people when we have toddlers and + stuff which we can use that room for. Head managers had to decide if we can use the room we paid for or not for some reason. Another issue was when we required some refreshments for the kids and ourselves. As it was a bit of a hot weather, we decided that maybe it was possible to ask for some ice from the bar for our refreshments/juices. The same guy again didn’t entertain our request but instead told us that he cannot give us at least a bucket of ice and if we wanted to, we can drive to blairgowrie to buy our own this was at As much as we asked nicely, the guy ended up giving us pints full of ice and wouldn’t give anymore. To add on to this, the space in the rooms I wouldn’t complain about. However, the state of their rooms are shocking, especially in this time of pandemic. You’d expect the room will be cleaned spotless, but instead, all we found on the wall are spiderwebs and all sort of insects roaming around the room. The sink in the toilets are also dirty. The beds and the linen weren’t the best either. Also, the free breakfast given in the morning. Yes, it is free but doesn’t mean that you should serve such small portions to your guests. You don’t really charge small amount for the room either so I think an adequate amount of food wouldn’t hurt your business. However, the ladies that served us during breakfast are all fantastic and friendly. The hospitality they have shown us really have made up for how the guy staff treated us the night before.
We stayed here for one night last week. The Bridge of Cally Hotel is in a very rural location so don't expect anything else here but is a perfect location if you are yearning for peace and quiet. After a stressful couple of days, I...found this hotel delightful. The setting is beautiful an elevated small patio area leads done to a lovely garden area with access to the river, however, the best walk is on the other side so you need to walk to the post office (next door) and there is an access gate there. The hotel is slowly going through redecoration and it has been done beautifully and in a contemporary Scottish style. The restaurant area overlooks the garden while the breakfast room overlooks the road. The bar has a large fire which must be delightful in winter, and a small lounge area at the end. We were upgraded from a twin to a double bedroom and it was lovely. There was no view from the window but it was clean and extremely well styled and decorated. The bathroom had a bath with shower which was hot and powerful with toiletries supplied if needed. The staff worked tirelessly. There were only three (one was the manager) and they had to contend with a full restaurant and bar service. They had only been open for a week after being closed for months due to covid so only had a skeleton crew but we could not fault their hard work and professionalism. The restaurant menu isn't extensive but there is enough choice but I did feel it was a little overpriced for what we got. A mixed grill should comprise more than a small steak, a small piece of butterfly chicken breast, a sausage and rasher of bacon, However, we could not fault the breakfast which was included in our room rate. The menu was inventive and offered a good range of items. Check in is at but we had to wait for the hotel to reopen after closing at after lunchtime service, but the barman found us waiting and opened up and let us in to get a drink while he got things set up which was lovely. As rules in Scotland are different to England, you have to book the restaurant on arrival to ensure you get a table. We weren't able to eat until almost but the lovely location and fully-stocked bar kept us going and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while waiting. I booked this hotel without my partner viewing it and on arrival, he was disappointed that it was out of town and had nothing to do but he soon realised what a lovely hotel it was as the service, the room and the surroundings were exceptional. If we are in the area again, we won't hesitate to stay here again.
We had a wonderful experience at this charming hotel located at the base of the Cairngorms. It served as a perfect starting point for exploring the area. The staff, Monica and Gareth, were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Our room was pleasant, though the bed could have been more comfortable. The restaurant was lovely, albeit a bit on the expensive side. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning in the future.
We had a pleasant experience at this restaurant and enjoyed our time there. The restaurant itself is lovely, but the prices are a bit high. We decided to order the fish and chips with mushy peas, which was delicious and served promptly. The portion sizes were a bit small though. The Tarte aux pommels dessert was a highlight for me. The bar area and residents lounge were both cozy and inviting.
