Bidrage med feedbackWe had dinner here a couple of nights ago with a group of friends. Most of us enjoyed our meals very much. We found the area a little cold although there were several heats on. The outside seating space had blinds for protection against weather. The service was good and the prices reasonable.
First visit. Nice feel restaurant with friendly staff. But i do think the night we dined the chefs had given up. The calamari was described as slightly crumbed. They looked and tasted like they were deep fried straight out of a frozen bag purchased from coles and placed on a mass of cubed cucumbers. The main meal chicken sadly seemed it was also straight from the freezer. I don't mind that but not when i am paying $30 for a main meal i would like it fresh not frozenBut we had a good night and would we go again. Who knows
We went for an impromptu meal on a Saturday night and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly without being over the top and allowed us the time to have a drink before deciding on our meal.As a BYO it was great to take our own wine and the corkage was moderate. The meals were made fresh and tasted delicious with ample portions.After the meal we weren't made to feel like moving on and had plenty of time to talk over our bottle of wine.Highly recommended for a quality affordable meal.
My wife and I had not visited this restaurant for some time as I found the food to be average. We decided to dine there last night because it is close to our home. The good news is that the food has improved greatly. The bad news is that the service has deteriorated to the level of being poor. The highlight in terms of service was when we asked if we could make a booking we were told "Yes, of course." It was all down-hill from there.The person receiving the booking found it difficult to spell our simple surname.When we arrived, although the interior of the restaurant was completely empty, we were seated at a table around the corner and partly out of sight of the counter (a significant feature later on). My wife and I are in our 50's and being addressed as "guys" really wrankles.A wine bucket was provided along with a bottle of water but nothing was poured. In fact, at no point in the evening were either wine or water poured for us. Actually the waitress did not even unscrew the lid of the wine bottle but we were charged corkage!We had to attract the attention of a waitress to place our order. We saw three waitresses go repeatedly to the exterior section of the restaurant although there was only one family of four people there when we arrived and a second group of four a little later. As the evening progressed and a few more customers arrived we saw people who had arrived after us receive their main courses. We were still waiting for our entrée. After half an hour we received our very simple shared entrée, a pizza bianca and were told that the first one "was a bit burnt, so we have done it again for you." Obviously that is what is required! No apology. We suspect they lost our order. After another half hour we received our main course.We asked for our bill. Nothing happened. I went to the counter to pay, and no attempt had been made to process our account. The wait staff seemed completely oblivious that they had two unhappy patrons.We left one and one half hours after arriving.As I said, good food and poor service.
This restaurant was due to close a couple of years ago but vocal customer dismay at the prospect caused a re-think. There ill be many happy about that. The food, take-away and dine in, is very good, true to its heritage as far as my experience goes, with ample portion sizes across the board. The menu is pretty much pasta, pizzas, risotto, and a range of similarly themed meals. For take-away, the pizzas are good value for money and, as Molly would say, do yourself a favour and try the Risotto Pollo Paprika. All meals seem to be less salty than in the past - a new chef or health outlook I don't know. In house service is usually very good with evidence of training. Occasionally it's patchy but that seems to be when they have been caught off guard with too much custom. Neat, casual dress and atmosphere, a comfy place to meet a friend or for a couple wanting 'a nice (but not over the top) meal out'.
