Marrbury Smokehouse - Dumfries Galloway

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. A knowledgeable and enthusiastic young lady warmly welcomed us and offered tastes of their excellent products. The smoked salmon and other smoked items here are top quality. It's impressive that Mr. Marr does everything himself, from fishing and catching to curing and smoking. We first tried Marrbury smoked salmon at Gleneagles Hotel and made sure to stop by when we were in the area. We were very happy we did!

We stayed in Kirkcudbright and decided to stop at this restaurant during a drive. The restaurant is mostly self-service with no hot food available. My husband had a sandwich and I tried the ploughman's platter from the fridge, which was very fresh and delicious. Hot drinks were available from a machine that was easy to use. The lady working behind the counter was lovely, polite, and chatty. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping by this restaurant.
