Pecos Diamond Steakhouse - Dumas

The food at this restaurant was disappointing. We stopped by for a late lunch and started with the cheese sticks, which were crispy but lacked any flavor. Although the menu mentioned spicy ranch, it turned out to be just regular ranch. It was clear that much of the food was frozen and simply reheated. While ordering, we found that many items on the menu were unavailable. My husband’s steak was a mess, coming out with three different levels of doneness: rare, medium-well, and fully cooked, even though he had specifically ordered it medium-rare. The "homemade" mac and cheese tasted like Kraft and was served cold and congealed. The French fries were crispy on the outside but devoid of any potato inside. Overall, everything was bland, and the chicken strips I had were so hard and overcooked that they were difficult to eat. We definitely won’t be returning.

Long road trip. Stopped in Dumas, TX for the night. Tired and hungry. Went to Pecos Steakhouse. WOW!! Great food. There was a Salad Bar!! I can't recall all the different salads. The lettuce was crisp, the macaroni salads: at least three different kinds were fresh and delicious.Had chicken fried steak....wonderful. Could cut it with a fork. Cream/pepper gravy tasty. The French fries were truly pomme frittes. As good as those I've had in Paris.All in all, a GREAT restaurant in small town Texas.

I used to work here. If you eat here, I can guarantee your dishes aren’t washed properly. Not only was an employee allowed to physically assault me, she was made the assistant manager. Her and her father no longer work there, and obviously I don’t either, but someone else in my family does. Turns out the new manager (Ruben Briseño) likes to inappropriately touch the employees, including the underage waitresses. Pecos Diamond will not get another dime out of me, or my family.

The four of us were just passing thru Dumas and stopped here for supper. The salad bar is out of this world .We ordered the Rib Eye steak and it also was cooked to perfection.Bailey was our waitress and she went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was great and our drinks were always topped off and that we had everything we needed She needs a raise. If you are coming to Dumas make this your dinner choice, it was excellent.

Wow…what a gem! We have passed by many times, don’t be like the Pattersons! From the time you entered their doors, you were taken care of. The salad bar should have a review of its own, but trust me it was unbelievable! My husband had the fish and I had the 8oz Sirloin. Both of our meals were cooked to perfection and the baked potato came with already melted butter and all the fixings. I would highly recommend stopping in, you will not be disappointed!
