Bidrage med feedbackWe had lunch at the restaurant while visitng the museum. Rhe food is freshly prepared and delicious. The choice is wide. It works as a buffet where you can pick up a number of verrines glass containers,a great idea in terms of hygiene. There is an indoor and outdoor space, right on the edge if the runway. Pricewise it is very good value for money. So would highly recommend a visit !
Visiting the recently reopened and partly refurbished Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, it was evident to have lunch at the museum's restaurant. This turned out to be a disappointing experience. Entering the space it looks like a kind of highway buffet restaurant where you have to take your own tray and fill it. But with what ? Confused, we found a place at a table. Fortunately one of the waitresses had spotted us and noted that we were actually supposed to have waited (where ? why not indicated ? before being seated. Then we were promised that a menu would be presented. Surprise, there is no menu. The waitresses had to tell by heart which plates are available (without the prices, obviously . It was a busy day (a Sunday and the waitresses and kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed by the presence, so everything took quite long, though the waitresses seemed to be doing their best. Our plates were actually pretty good (parmentier de canard, suprème de volaille though not very abundant. Having ordered also two desserts we thus had to wait quite a long time before we got them two nice citron merengue cakes. The coffee seemed to have been forgotten, though in the end they were brought but rather cold in the meantime. Biggest surprise was the check. No cashing at the tables (given the lack of waitresses this was not necessarily bad news but instead a queue for a cash register where one had to tell the table number (which does not correspond with the metal number on the tables, very useful and the consumptions. It did not look like there was a central register. Anything would have passed in fact. When i got the bill, i first thought that a mistake must have taken place, but it really turned out to be well above 50 euro. The lemon cakes were 8 euro each. Prices worthy of a Paris Palace. A plastic bottle of schweppes did 4,5 euro. Incredible. The chaos with the table numbers and consumptions obviously caused an enormous queue in front of the cash desk, through which the waitresses had to manoeuvre with ordered plates. No accidents have taken place but that seemed to be a matter of luck only. The interior of the restaurant looks a bit like a highway restaurant, with incredibly dirty, metal chairs. Nobody seems to care but it looks like they have not been cleaned since the 1970's. The lack of menu's is all the more striking since the Internet site of the museum provides a detailed menu (including prices but the idea of proposing a decent menu seems to have been abandoned. The kitchen staff and waitresses tried to do a good job, but the management of this restaurant is a real disgrace. For those visiting the museum, there are a couple of restaurants outside (though i did not visit them or just bring your own, there are some tables outside on which you can have a picknick.
Located at the Le Bourget Air and Space Museum (Paris) This restaurant is Nothing really much to write home about, food was okay and pretty average. There is a choice of either sitting inside or outside on the sunny apron amongst some of the museums larger aircraft exhibits. This is the only place to purchase food and drinks within the museum complex so it’s very much a captive audience. Serves a purpose if you are hungry.
The location close the Musee de l'air is great, but: The place is obviously understaffed, the few waitresses there need some more training and some management too. It took too long to be served, then not everyone had his plate, so some of us ate while the others were waiting... Food was average: a simple effort of more seasoning could be made to bring a kick into their dishes, at a low cost. This occurred for the entrees as well as for the main course. Finally, no time to get any dessert, just a coffee, and it took them 20 minutes to prepare it. And it was bad.
We visited the restaurant and weren't sure whether to wait to be seated or just sit down. After waiting sometime, we just sat down. The restaurant had a significant number of dirty tables that hadn't been cleared even though, to me, there was a lot of staff milling about and not a huge number of customers. You couldn't see over the bar for glasses needing washed and empty bottles recycled. We got someones attention and got menus we personally thought the prices were high and combined with the initial impression we decided we would just have a drink and eat elsewhere. We were guided to a separate bit for drinks only. When sitting here was saw some dessert pies with 2 flies taking particular interest in them. It's not fair to judge the cleanliness on this as it could be an isolated incident but it put me right off.
