Bidrage med feedbackGood and clean hotel close to the railway station (10 mins walking) and town centre (15 minutes). Kind staff, clean room and comfortable bed. Very good starting point to walk around the town. Around the hotel there are a lot of restaurants and bakeries. I highly suggest this hotel.
The experience of the revolving restaurant was fun - especially if you go across sunset time. However, the food was not good at all. We were vegetarian - there was one option and it wasn't very tasty. It was also very expensive. Not only were we charged a lot for a bad meal - we were also charged an entrance fee to the tower on top of it. Which I found surprising. So it was €18 for two to go up to the tower and then over €85 for soup, pasta and apple cake which just weren't worth the money. Maybe going to the bar is better - but we wanted the revolving bit! They wouldn't allow me to put candles on cake for a birthday - just in case anyone wanted a birthday celebration.
On a recent trip to Dusseldorf, we were both really looking forward to going to the summit of the Rheinturm for a drink on our last night in Germany. Unfortunately, our experience was very poor. First off, there was very little to be seen from the tower at night as the bright neon lights which adorn the sides of the tower reflect very strongly off the glass panes of the bar meaning that views are pretty limited. In hindsight, it is probably far better to go at day! Secondly there was an unbelievable smell of sewage in the whole of the viewing area and the bar and this only got worse during our stay there. The worst part of the experience were the staff and in particular the female member of staff on duty. She was very abrupt and rude and walked off away from us when we could not find the correct change to give to her to pay for our drinks. The staff in general were unfriendly and seemed uninterested. The saving grace of the experience were the staff at the paying counter to gain entry to the Rheinturm and the lift operator. They were very nice people and could certainly teach manners to the bar staff. Overall, we would recommend that it is better to visit during the day rather than the night to get the best views. In truth however, the Rheinturm is probably better appreciated from outside rather than inside.
Cracking view showing off this fine city, excellent way to dispose of a hangover. Good coffee and cheesecake too B-)
Its a special celebration place, which focuses more on the ambiance and the feeling of having the moment at the tallest building in Dusseldorf 170 m high and getting the view of 360 degrees. The restaurant being the rotating one makes it more special.
