Bidrage med feedbackI went to this place in 2007 and I still have a good memory of this place. Now I went back at the end of March 2022 and the restaurant has changed and is now specialized as Italian food. I had tagliatelle al funghi with red wine from Sicilia. I was nice and the service was good. I still recommend it because it is very nice, pleasant, good with nice people.
Düdingen is nothing to write at home. It is however the home of Gasthof Zum Ochsen a traditional restaurant with excellent food and great service. I sat in the upper “Salle à Manger” which offers a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. A huge thumb to the...Lady owner and her team for the friendly and smiling service during dinner. As I visited in September, the menu included many game and wild dishes. My dinner began with tasty homemade ducks as Amuse Bouche. As an appetizer I had served the deer carpaccio with truffles and Rodyère: tender and excellent. As the main course, I decided for the deer filet mignon served with all circumcisions really a highlight as it was very tender and came as a generous portion! As sweet, I pampered with a chestnut mousse served with Cherry Sorbet. On the bottom, Switzerland always had a high price structure, and Ochsen is no exception. The invoice amounted to CHF111 definitely not to the budget of all, but the excellent food and service are worth it.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Switzerland not only during the season (a very special occasion not to miss in September October in autumn, but throughout the year. The restaurant uses many local products ( vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, cheese etc., respects the hard work of local farmers as well as various seasons. All meals are very tasty and colourful presented. A very strong point in the Desserts menu with various local fruits. Most restaurants offer very standardized international dessert menu (almost similar to Australia, Great Britain or France with very small fruits (always chocolate, chocolate, chocolate). ... In this restaurant you will find a surprisingly different and light menu. A special reference should be made to the wine list with many excellent Swiss wines. There is even a special section of red wines in the south of Russia (not far from Sochi by the Swiss family Burnier (swiss quality and dedication rich and generous black sea soil). In this restaurant you have a very rare opportunity to taste 2008 Krasnostop (Autochthon Russian red grapes, which at the price of CHF 69 per bottle very cheaply compared with many well-known names in Tuscany or Bordeaux. The service is very attentive and fast. Prices (in the raised Salle à manger are appropriate. Do not miss the season in this restaurant again! Book in advance in the evening as the room has only several tables.
The restaurant was filled with lunch when we arrived, but the owner immediately gave us a place in the gourmet restaurant where we could eat the same dishes as in the brasserie. Very nice salad buffet, tasty simple lunches perfectly prepared. We also enjoyed the free desert (every Friday) and a strong expresso. All for a fair price. No wonder the place is always well visited.
