Just a heads up, next time if someone with a service animal is told to go to the terrace at this restaurant. Service animals are allowed in all areas where the public is allowed to go, according to ADA, state and local regulations. It is inappropriate to exclude a service animal from areas like patient rooms, clinics, cafeterias or examination rooms in a hospital. However, it may be appropriate to exclude a farm animal from areas like farms or sterile environments. When in doubt, asking limited questions about the service animal's purpose is allowed, such as: (1) is the dog a service animal required due to a disability, and (2) what task is the dog trained to perform. Questions about the person's disability, medical documentation, special IDs, or the dog's training are not allowed. Allergies or fears of dogs are not valid reasons to deny access to those using service animals. If someone allergic to dogs and a service animal user need to be in the same space, accommodations should be made. A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove their service animal unless the dog is out of control or not domesticated. If there is a legitimate reason to ask the service animal to be removed, alternative services should be offered. Food establishments must allow service animals in public areas, even if health codes prohibit animals on the premises. People with disabilities who use service animals should not be treated differently or charged extra fees. Additionally, any fees charged to customers with service animals should be waived. Overall, the experience at this restaurant was good.
On Thursday, we made a stop on our way to New York to have a great time at Boxcar Brew Works. The restaurant was located in a unique strip mall made from train box cars. They had live music playing on the deck, but since it was a bit chilly and drizzling, we decided to sit inside. Everything was going well until we tried the beer. My wife prefers white beer, but unfortunately, it was flat and lacking in flavor. I had a lazy IPA and red ale, both of which were also lacking in taste.
My children absolutely loved all the train cars on display. I personally appreciated how they were repurposed for different uses, such as housing restaurants, a brewery, and a model railway room. Additionally, they even offer the opportunity to spend the night in a modified caboose. This is a fantastic destination for train enthusiasts, history buffs, or families looking for a unique experience. The golf course could use some maintenance and updating, but it still provided a fun and challenging round. The website was quirky but entertaining. Although there were multiple restaurants on site, not all of them were open during our visit.
A good variety of beers. As a non-beer drinker they also had a rum-based Moscow Mule type drink that was fantastic. Food was very good, especially the beer cheese pretzels! Very friendly, helpful staff, and comfy environment.
