Bidrage med feedbackI sampled the spicy beef noodle soup (BBH) and found it infused with lovely lemongrass flavors and a nice spicy kick. I enjoyed the small taste I had. However, my wife thought the congealed pork blood had a texture that was a bit too rough for her taste, and she found the noodles to be on the thinner side. For her, Pho Saigon City in Pleasanton remains her favorite for BBH. I tried the grilled pork and egg roll bun, which featured well-cooked and seasoned pork, and the egg roll was hot and crispy. I really appreciated how the sauce and veggies complemented each other, along with the crunchiness of the peanuts. I would have liked a bit more pickled veggies, but overall, it was a solid dish. I give it 4 stars! I will definitely return to explore more of their menu. I'm glad we have a worthy replacement for Pho Saigon!
For their Beef Noodle Soup Pho, they offer a wide variety of combinations, and I was pleased to see both tendon and tripe on the menu. You can even upgrade to a large bowl for just $0.50! I ordered the #5, which includes rare steak, brisket, and tendon tripe. The broth was fantastic, packed with umami flavors, and the meat was delicious. It came with a side of fresh basil, bean sprouts, and lime for extra flavor. For the Grilled Pork Egg Roll over Vermicelli, I absolutely love Bun, and they do it well here. The pork was tender with a nice grilled flavor, but the egg rolls really stole the show! They were hot and crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor on the inside. We were even tempted to order a second round of egg rolls! I do wish it had come with a sweet and sour sauce, as that would have complemented the dish perfectly. The service was quick in terms of getting our orders and food, but once we finished, we had to wait about 10 minutes to find someone to help us pay the bill. The staff member who took our order also wore her mask below her mouth while serving, which I found concerning. Overall, I enjoyed the meal but hope they improve their service in the future.
I stopped here because I saw that it had great reviews! During lunch time, the parking was a little crowded but it wasn't too bad. Inside was very clean, I was greeted and seated right away! I looked over the menu before I got there but about a couple minutes of seating the waitress came to me to order already so I felt a little rushed, but it wasn't a big deal. She served me with lime water and the side soup which was good. Their water without lime was really good too, because sometimes other people's water tastes funny but the water here is really good. I ordered the number 51 beef and rice, and the flavor was delicious. I loved how juicy the meat was and it came out really fast! This is a good spot for large groups and people on lunch because they serve the food hot and fast! Within 10 minutes of sitting my food came right out and that's good for people who need to be in and out! My only complaint is having to flag the ladies down for a refill on water; they were sitting next to me by the door and I kept trying to get their attention as they were chit chatting so I had to come out of my seat to ask for water, but the minute they heard and saw me they were sweet and game me another full cup of ice water, so thank you Pho Saigon you gained a regular customer!
I've been to this place many times and don't know why it's taken me so long to leave a review. This place might be one of the better options for Vietnamese around (although the Peninsula has some of the best). I have yet to try the corona outdoor seating setup. I usually go with a standard pho and grilled chicken over rice plate for the kiddos. The pho is nice, but for takeout, I always reheat the broth to get it back to piping hot, and try to recreate the restaurant presentation by pouring everything into a huge bowl. I get it pretty close, and the taste is real nice. The broth is excellent on most days, although I've had it on some where it's less than potent. The mix ins were standard fare. But everything mixed together is just great. Especially on a cold winter night. The chicken is pretty decent. I find it a little dry, but the kiddos love it. Especially when some of the rice is smothered in pho juice. If the kids like it, that means daddy doesn't have to worry about dinner for them. Win. So yeah, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
The service was okay; the staff mostly stayed at the front and only came to our table to bring our food. I had to flag down the server a few times to get more water. They do provide utensils and condiments on the table for easy access, and you pay at the front. However, I found the restaurant wasn't very clean. I noticed several flies buzzing around and landing on other customers. Overall, the food was decent, but I probably won’t return. Just a heads up, they will be moving to a new location in Pleasanton at the end of the month.
