The Mercantile - Dublin

Waited a while for it to arrive (a good 30 mins). However, would prefer to have freshly cooked food and not microwaved. It came, and really was lovely but luke warm, in fact the potato was cold. We got offered the opportunity to have it heated up but with pork I didn’t want to risk it. Mentioned to two servers and bill came no offer of complimentary desserts or coffees. Really disappointed that good customer service is not provided because of being a tourist. A general lack of respect and decent customer service, and €30 lighter for a meal which was not to a standard I’d get at home.

First pub we stopped at, for our first night in Dublin. Great atmosphere, good food. Felt cosy with the lights, plenty of screens to watch sports

I hope they have reviewed their door staff of late because I was once entertaining some clients in this establishment. I had to pop outside for a minute and when reentering, one of the door staff told me “No, I’ve caught you. You’ve been trying to sneak in all night”. The other door staff, who knew he was mistaken would not stand up and say it. It seemed a spiteful purposeful act. A quite embarrassing situation as I had to call my clients and tell them I’m not allowed back in!! He was a Blonde Eastern European chap. Most bizarre little man.

Wandered in here for some food after a venue wish we had kept going to be honest. Bar lads fine but the food service is atrocious we had to clear dirty glasses from table from last customers we had to ask for cutlery I wont bore you but it was shoddy, we had just begun to eat when the waitress came over and asked us to settle our bill??? I had just taken a bite of the lovely steak and there she was asking us to settle the bill so insulting rude and downright stupid!! I have worked doing exactly the same job as this person never in a million years would you ask people during there meal to settle the bill nor expect them to clear dirty glasses from table from last customers truly worst service ever and I've been around lol Better managing needed in this establishment and manners and training wouldn't go amiss!

A lively bar with music and a lot going on. Crowd is a mix of tourists and locals. Seems to get very busy and crowded at busy times but that is always a good sign if you ask me
