Bidrage med feedbackGreat service with plenty to chose from staff excellent and pleasant at all times Really like the salad option with a choice that would please any vegetarian
The food was great, choice of excellent soups and sandwiches, coffees, teas and cakes, pleasant staff and a cosy atmosphere. Great spot for lunch before visiting the gallery or going to a matinee in the nearby Gate Theatre.
Not a big fan of Itsa cafes but this is the exception certainly for my visits (3 or 4). We had tea and scones and sandwich and soft drinks service was good and food was also good. Service was not overly polished but friendliness compensated for this.
Really bad sandwich: slimy lettuce, meat appeared to be frozen, far too much mustard. Warm tap water in warm glasses served when we refused the chilled bottled water brought to the table. Which they then attempted to charge for! No cutlery I n table so my friend and got some ourselves from the next table. Dessicated stale cake, risible "gourmet salad. . Avoid. Such a pity because the space itself, looking out on courtyard is lovely.
This cafe is downstairs on the Hugh Lane Gallery. There for lunch with a few others. It never seems to be full and I think that 's due to lack of promotion. Why not call it the Hugh Lane Cafe!? Staff are polite and friendly. The venue is kept clean and tidy and good for a relaxing coffee or indeed a meeting. There is a nice menu with beautifully made sandwiches and bagels and salads. Sandwiches are not your standard cafe fare here I recommend the Italian Job €6.75.
